Fabric Choices

Why 100% Organic Cotton?

The short answer: it’s the least toxic fabric (behind linen and wool.)

The longer answer: initially, I wanted Not By Might to only have clothing made of linen and wool. However, it was hard to design a t-shirt made entirely of linen or wool, so the next best thing is 100% organic cotton. But why?

Did you know fabrics have a frequency, and that the frequency can either be healing or depleting to the human body?

Stay with me…

Here are the frequencies we’ll talk about:

  • Linen: ~5,000 mHz

  • Wool: ~5,000 mHz

  • 100% Organic Cotton: ~100 mHz

  • A Healthy Human Body: ~100 mHz

  • Polyester: ~15 mHz

  • A dead/decaying human body: ~15 mHz

In short, anything above the frequency of the human body will be healing to wear, and anything below will not. This is the reason gauze is made of linen (and why hospital sheets used to be made of linen) - it’s literally healing to the human body.

I love when science catches up to God’s word. “Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.” - Deuteronomy 22:11. If you’re anything like me, that may have confused you on first read. I actually literally wrote a question mark over the verse in my Bible when I first read it (pic below.)

While I might not know exactly why God gave this instruction to Moses to give to the Israelites, I do know that wool’s frequency reads in one direction, and linen’s reads in the opposite direction. That may not sound important, but it means that when wool and linen are woven together, they effectively cancel each other out. It brings both frequencies down to 0 mHz - which is not only below the frequency of a dead/decaying body, but it’s also a huge difference from 5,000 mHz!

I believe with my whole heart that Jesus still heals today, and I want my clothing line to reflect that belief as one more way to honor Him. While 100% Organic Cotton might not be considered “healing” since it’s not above the body’s frequency, it’s not harming the body either. (I do plan to expand the clothing line - on God’s timing - and hope to eventually include linen and wool items!)

God’s design is perfect, He cares about us, and He is in the details. He wants to heal us - in EVERY way. I hope wearing Not By Might clothing will feel healing, but true healing is found only in Jesus Christ. I encourage you to wear natural fabrics whenever possible, but most importantly, I encourage you to seek God, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and let Him truly heal you.

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” - Psalms 55:22
